sad Tuesday

Had a doctor appointment today for my leg. I'm 2 months into this thing now (cut it on June 20th) and still have a gaping hole below my knee. This time they packed it with a white styrofoam looking material. It's to keep the wound moist while drawing out the moisture. ya, I know, an oxymoron at its finest. haha. I am to repack it everyday for 2 weeks, then go back in on the 9th of September. On my way back to work, (I have to drive right past the house) I notice a goat laying up against a corner of the farthest fence, and make a mental note to check on her when I get home. Sure enough, as soon as the other goats see me getting out of my Jeep, they all start "calling" for me. It's an entirely different sound than their usual, "hey! she's here! come see me, come see me!" so I knew in an instant something was wrong. Of course they all follow me into the field but stop about 1/2 way there. I continue to walk and see 'Nike' has her head stuck in the fence, and yes, she was gone. =( She was my "problem child"- always SO sure the grass WAS greener on the other side of that damn fence. I try to untangle her poor little head, but she had done it good this time and I had to bend and stretch with all my might. I said my little goodbye prayer and she was buried down the hill. I hope she's enjoying a field full of tall green grass, that doesn't have a stitch of milkweed in it. <3

pictures that make me laugh

Fiasco Friday

Jessica got stung on the butt by a bee. I broke the car. The Serpentine belt broke. Nice. The other day I had to be pulled off a dirt side road cause I high centered the other car! haha? Friday kicked my ass. and won.

I think I'll be driving the 4x4 Blazer from now on! LOL!!

This was a couple days ago when I high centered the car in a farm field.
We called some "boy"friends and they came pulled it out with a 4x4. ugh.

strength and courage

It takes strength to be firm, it takes courage to be gentle.

It takes strength to conquer, it takes courage to surrender.

It takes strength to be certain, it takes courage to have doubt.

It takes strength to fit in, it takes courage to stand out.

It takes strength to feel a friend's pain, it takes courage to feel your own pain.

It takes strength to endure abuse, it takes courage to stop it.

It takes strength to stand alone, it takes courage to lean on another.

It takes strength to love, it takes courage to be loved.

It takes strength to survive, it takes courage to live.
